This blog is a home for all things:
My journey into yoga started when I was a teen and my mum took me to a class. It really deepened however, when I was 17 after undergoing a spinal fusion surgery to correct my severe scoliosis (an abnormal curvature of the spine). I became monumentally aware of both the fragility and strength of our minds, bodies & spirits and the importance of connecting with the self. Since then the practice of yoga has become an integral part of my life. In 2016 I completed my 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training and I plan on continuing to grow my knowledge of the 8 limbs, ayurveda, sanskrit & subtle anatomies as well as sharing what I know through teaching and writing.
Traveling the world is what excites me to my core. I have a constant list of cities I dream of stepping into & of adventures I long to have. For as long as I can remember I have harboured a love for stories, for seeing how the fabric of life sews itself together. Travel is a means of understanding; of seeing these stories up close and personal and really feeling your place within them or around them. I dream of traveling the world and writing about it, and thats just what i’ll do.
Teaching as a career was the only thing that seemed to make sense for a long time. I’d always had a love for language arts & history- stories of different worlds and human experiences. School wasn’t always my favourite place but in arts subjects I felt at home and connected. In 2015 I completed my undergrad in English & History and in 2016 my Bachelor of Education. I’ve learned that being a teacher isn’t so much in teaching the subject, but in encouraging students to be ‘life long learners’, because I believe that’s what we all are. My passions don’t stop at just one thing- I contain multitudes and so does everyone! There is a way to weave them all together and learn something new everyday- this is my purpose as a teacher, traveler & yogi!
Here I will share yoga, travel, art, teaching, books, recipes, stories and more. Life is beautiful and is meant to be shared- lets all connect through the things we love!
